


About the branch
The branch of the University of Science and Technology in Ibb Governorate was established at the beginning of August 2002 AD as an educational edifice that aims to provide distinguished education and effective learning to meet the existing need, in the service of man and society. Where a coordination office was opened and 32 male and female students joined, and the actual beginning of the branch came in the year 2003-2004 AD, when the Computer Programming Department and the various distance learning departments were opened, and the total number of registered students reached (303) male and female students.
In the year 2004-2005 AD, the Department of Pharmacy and Business Administration Diploma was added to the previous departments, and the number of students enrolled in the branch reached (804). The computer labs were also expanded, and the pharmacy lab and phonetics lab were established for the English Language Department.
In the year 2005-2006 AD, the number of registered students reached (439) male and female students, and this year witnessed a package of expansion, development and modernization works as follows:
- Completing the fourth floor in the building, and preparing the classrooms appropriately.
- Expanding the library and providing it with special scientific references.
- Activate the automated accounting system and student accounts.
- Opening of the Science Center for Training and Community Development.
- Holding a graduation ceremony for two batches of computer, administrative and human sciences students, and a batch of pharmacy students.
In the year 2006-2007, (476) male and female students joined the university, and a medical laboratory technician specialization was opened, and a laboratory was prepared for laboratories. A maintenance lab was added to the computer department, references and books to the library.
From the total previous numbers, it appears that the number of students enrolled in the branch has reached a total of (2054) male and female students divided between (graduated, regular, and the remainder to repeat, and between withdrawn, discontinued and postponed).
With increasing demand, coordination offices were opened in the city of Al-Qaida and Damt, and then in the city of Yarim. These offices included distance learning departments, training centers and community development, which contributed to rehabilitation, training and development in various fields.

Admission
Admission and registration procedures
- The university accepts high school holders in the Republic of Yemen, or its equivalent, at the rate that is determined annually.
- Submit all the required documents, certified, with the application for admission to the university, to the Admission and Registration Department.
- Admission is made according to the capacity specified by the university and approved by the Ministry of Higher Education.
- The student undertakes to abide by the regulations, instructions and regulations of the university in force during the study.
Students enrolled in some programs at the university are subject to differentiation tests, which are a criterion for university admission. This is done through placement determination, personal interview, as well as a GPA competition and an admission test.
- The application form for admission, with all the information included in it completed, in accordance with the conditions of the university.
- The original certified high school certificate or its equivalent, accompanied by a true copy.
- If the secondary school is from outside Yemen, it will be baptized (original + copy) from the following authorities:
- The Ministry of Education in the country from which the certificate was issued.
- The Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the country from which the certificate was issued.
- Embassy of the Republic of Yemen in the country from which the certificate was issued.
- Yemeni Foreign Ministry in Sana'a
If the secondary school certificate is from a non-Arab country, it will be translated after ratification and ratification of the translated copy (according to paragraph 3 above), in addition to its equivalency at the Ministry of Education in the Republic of Yemen.
- A copy of the personal or family card for Yemeni students.
- Ten personal photos (6×4) with a white front background.
- Photocopies of the first eight pages of the passport (for non-Yemenis), provided that the passport is valid for more than one year, with a record of residing in Yemen for at least one year.

- Admission test materials for the College of Engineering and the College of Computing and Information Technology (Mathematics - Physics - English)
- Materials for the admission test for an English major in the College of Humanities and Social Sciences (English - personal interview)
Students transferred from Yemeni universities to the University of Science and Technology:
In addition to the above, they are required to bring a transcript of the subjects studied by the student at that university, baptized from Yemeni higher education, with true copies of the transcript, in addition to a certified copy from the university of the scientific content of the subjects in the transcript.
Students transferred from universities outside Yemen:
In addition to what was mentioned above, it is required to baptize the transcripts from higher education and foreign affairs in that country, the Yemeni embassy there, and the Yemeni Foreign Ministry in Sana’a, provided that that body is recognized in higher education, in addition to a certified copy of the university in which he studied for the scientific content in the transcript. In the event that the transcript is in a language other than Arabic, as if the university is a foreign one, it will be translated and baptized as mentioned above.

After filling in the data, the enrollment application is issued from the website and handed over to the college registrar to complete the procedures

Student activities are the other part of university life, as they constitute a forum for students’ creativity and extracurricular activities. .
