In light of the increasing interest of the Yemeni University of Science and Technology in the development of human resources in our local community in the field of higher education, which annually provides the community with efficient and specialized cadres, the opening of the University of Science and Technology - Hadhramaut Branch in the academic year 2000/2001 AD, the beginning of the distance learning system in the city of Mukalla Which started with seven majors: (Islamic Studies, Arabic Language, History, Media, Sharia and Law, Accounting and Business Administration)). In the year 2002/2003 AD, the Accounting Department (Regularity) was opened, then the branch’s headquarters moved to the Boyish area.

In the academic year 2003/2004 AD, the specialization of marketing (distance learning) was opened, and in the year 2004/2005 the specialization: ((The Qur’an and its sciences and sociology)) was opened, and in the year 2005/2006 AD the specializations were opened: ((Psychology - International Trade - Financial management - human resources management - and then opened all the specializations of the distance learning system, which amounted to 20 specializations)).

To become the University of Science and Technology - Hadhramout branch, the first among the private universities in the governorates of Hadhramaut, Socotra and Al-Mahra.

Introduction to the Department of Bachelor of Medical Laboratories

The Department of Bachelor of Medical Laboratories at the University Branch in Hadhramaut was established in the academic year 2013/2014 AD as an urgent need to contribute to providing medical institutions with qualified diagnostic cadres, and given the large number of high school and high diploma graduates and their desire to obtain a bachelor’s degree in the field of medical laboratories, in addition to saving the trouble of traveling Outside the province for students wishing to study.

The Medical Laboratory Sciences major is one of the specializations in the branch’s Department of Medical Sciences. It is an academic program in terms of description affiliated with the Health Sciences Department of the College of Medicine and Health Sciences in the main center in Sana’a. It grants a bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Sciences and the duration of study is four years after high school.

The roots of the Information Technology Department at the University of Science and Technology go back to 1994, represented by the establishment of the National College, which later expanded to the University of Science and Technology - where it was the first computer programming diploma program in the Republic of Yemen. In the academic year 2007/2008, the Bachelor's Program in Information Technology was implemented as one of the sub-specialties in the Department of Computer Science within the College of Science and Engineering.

Partnership with distinguished Malaysian universities in education has played a prominent role in the development and modernization of various information technology programs and has enhanced the transfer of the ancient Malaysian expertise and its practical application, especially with regard to the management of educational processes and curricula, as well as the use of modern educational technologies. Whereas, in the year 2005/2006, a bachelor's program in Information Technology (English) was started within a partnership program between the University of Science and Technology and the University of North Malaysia (UUM University Utara Malaysia), which is one of the giant public universities in Malaysia. A master's program in Information Technology was also established in the year 2005/2006 with the partnership and supervision of the Open University Malaysia OUM. Hadhramout Branch University Admission and Registration Procedures

Admission and registration requirements (Bachelor):

1- A high school diploma or its equivalent is accepted at the university according to the percentages specified by the Ministry of Higher Education.

2- The student undertakes to abide by the university's regulations, instructions and regulations.

Documents required for high school graduates

  • Applicants should submit their original high school certificates or an equivalent, and which should be certified by the relative authorities, attached with an original copy, translation and certification if it is in a language other than Arabic.
  • A copy of the personal or family card or passport.
  • Photocopies of the first eight pages of the passport (for non-Yemenis), provided that the passport is valid for more than one year, with a record of residing in Yemen for at least one year.
  • Fourteen recent personal photos, size (4×6), with white background
