The University of Science and Technology - Main Center, Aden, obtained the first place among private universities in Yemen according to the Spanish SCImago (SIR) classification for global educational and research institutions for the year 2024 AD, in addition to obtaining an advanced global position in the same classification, which is one of the most important global classifications for academic and research institutions.
The Semago classification is based on an index that includes three basic evaluation criteria: research performance (50%), innovation outputs (30%), and societal impact (20%). Under these three criteria, there are many sub-indicators for performance evaluation. The University of Science and Technology obtained the following results:
Overall ranking: 94.
Research performance: 85.
Innovation: 81.
Community Impact: 77, an indicator in which the university has improved this year compared to last year.
It is worth noting that the Simago ranking is issued by the Simago Research Group, a research organization based in Spain, and the ranking measures the performance of academic institutions related to research, ranking them according to the above-mentioned indicator.
This classification reaffirms the distinction of the University of Science and Technology, and effectively reflects its worthiness to lead private university education in Yemen.
