Under the patronage of the Minister of Industry and Trade, Mr. Mohammed Al-Ashwal, and the Minister of State, Governor of Aden Governorate, Mr. Ahmed Hamed Lamlas, and on the occasion of the Global Entrepreneurship Week 2024, the Businessmen Club, in coordination with the Student Affairs Department at the University of Science and Technology - Main Center Aden, organized on Monday, November 18, 2024, an awareness activity for university students in Aden Governorate, in the building of the University of Science and Technology in Aden.
The event began with an opening speech by the Assistant President of the University of Science and Technology for Student Affairs, Centers and Branches, Dr. Munir Al-Abbadi, who welcomed the Businessmen Club to the university, stressing the importance of the university’s partnership with the club; which leads to interest in human outputs, and qualifying them efficiently for the labor market, pointing out that the university’s graduates have distinguished capabilities, and they need someone to develop and enhance them further, and this is the role assigned to the Businessmen Club in developing these graduates and highlighting and marketing their work.
The Businessmen Club’s speech focused on the importance of this activity in spreading awareness of entrepreneurship among university students.
In a speech by the Dean of the Faculty of Administrative and Human Sciences at the University of Science and Technology, the Dean of the Faculty, Dr. Mahmoud Abdo Thabet, discussed the university’s interest in entrepreneurship and its keenness to motivate students to enter this field and open their own projects through the gateway of acquiring knowledge and qualification.
Following that, consultant Amna Al-Qadri gave a presentation about the Businessmen Club, explaining that the club is a non-profit organization that includes businessmen and women, and seeks to contribute to creating a supportive and stimulating environment for business; in a way that serves development, investment and economic stability in our country.
After that, two paragraphs were presented for the services of some commercial entities. The first paragraph presented the services of Solidarity Bank, which were reviewed by one of the Solidarity Bank’s managers, while the second paragraph presented the services of the Bank of Yemen and Kuwait, which were reviewed by one of the managers of the Bank of Yemen and Kuwait.
A member of the Businessmen Club presented an introductory paragraph that answered the question “Why is the Businessmen Club interested in entrepreneurship?”, indicating that entrepreneurship represents a basic driver for economic growth and innovation, noting the club’s efforts to be an incubator environment for entrepreneurs, and to guide and advise entrepreneurs; which helps in establishing innovative projects that benefit the country and the entrepreneurs themselves.
At the end of the event, the discussion was opened for students’ questions to be answered by businessmen, before the event came to a close with all participants participating in developing its recommendations.
This event comes as part of Global Entrepreneurship Week 2024, a global week held in November to celebrate innovators and startup founders, and aims to turn ideas into reality, enhance economic growth, and expand the scope of social businesses accompanying commercial projects.
