The Department of Human Medicine at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at the University of Science and Technology - Main Center Aden, organized a field visit program to each of: the Primary Health Care Office in Aden, the Regional Center for Tuberculosis Control in Aden, as well as the Malaria Program in the Governorate. These visits were conducted by third-level students in the department, within the subject of Primary Health Care 2, over four days, October 20-21-22-24, 2024.
The visit to the Primary Health Care Office in Aden aimed to learn about the nature of work in the office, which revolves around managing primary health programs in the governorate. The students received a lecture at the office about the nature of the work of the epidemiological surveillance program on the ground, and a review of other programs offered by the office. The visit also included students entering the vaccine warehouses, learning in a practical way about the method of storing vaccines in the governorate, as well as learning about the work of the comprehensive immunization program.
The visit to the Regional Center for Tuberculosis Control in Aden also aimed to familiarize the students with the services provided by the center to patients, whether diagnostic or therapeutic services, as well as to see the work mechanism in the center’s laboratory, in addition to seeing the latest statistics and numbers recorded by the center.
The visit program also included a visit to the Malaria Program in Aden, learning about the service provided there, and the nature of the work in the program to combat malaria.
