The University Branch in Marib Opens Dental Laboratories and Celebrates the Anniversary of the University’s Founding

The Acting President of the University of Science and Technology, Prof. Dr. Abdulghani Hamid Ahmed, and the Deputy Governor of Marib Governorate for Administrative Affairs, Mr. Abdullah Al-Bakri, inaugurated the laboratories of the Department of Dentistry at the university branch in Marib Governorate, coinciding with the Marib branch’s celebration of the thirtieth anniversary of the university’s founding. 

The Fundo Laboratory, the Dental Manufacturing Laboratory, the Diagnostic Radiology Laboratory, and the Specialized Scientific Paper and Electronic Library were also opened. 

The Acting President of the University and the Deputy Governor listened to an explanation from the Head of the Department, Dr. Khalil Al-Sabry, about the level of equipment for the laboratories and the library, which the university was keen to ensure was up to the latest specifications; which would help in the high qualification of students and the quality of dental medicine outputs in the governorate.

Dr. Khalil pointed out that the Department of Dentistry at the University's branch in Marib was established in 2022, and is considered the only one in the Saba region. He added that 24 medical clinics have been equipped for fourth-level students to implement the clinical phase, which enhances the quality of outputs and raises the level of scientific and practical qualification for dental students.

The university branch in Marib held a speech and artistic ceremony to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the university. The ceremony honored 90 male and female students from the top departments and those who excelled in university activities during the past academic year. In his speech during the ceremony, the governor’s deputy, Mr. Abdullah Al-Bakri, congratulated the university and its members on the anniversary of the founding, and also congratulated the students honored at the ceremony. The governor’s deputy praised the national scientific, research and educational giving journey of the University of Science and Technology, considering its branch in Marib a qualitative addition to enhancing higher education in the governorate.
