At the kind invitation of the Ministry of Digital Development and Communications of the Russian Federation, Prof. Dr. Abdul Ghani Hamid Ahmed, President of the University of Science and Technology, attended this morning, Tuesday 02/20/2024, the opening session of the First Eurasian Information Technology Forum: “Digital Sovereignty as a Basis for Long-Term International Cooperation”, which the Ministry is holding during the period 02/20-21/2024 in the Russian capital, Moscow.
The forum brings together representatives of executive authorities, heads of major IT companies, universities, and relevant stakeholders. During its sessions, promising areas of cooperation in the field of digital transformation, information security, building digital government ecosystems in the era of the data economy, trends in smart city development, as well as training cadres in the era of the data economy, opportunities and limits in building digital states, digital public administration, digital transformation in public administration based on modern technological solutions, etc. will be discussed.
On the sidelines of the conference, the university president met with his counterparts, university presidents attending the conference from Russia and Eurasian countries, as well as some representatives of technology companies. During the meeting, he discussed with them the prospects for joint cooperation and the areas that could be a starting point for contributing to enhancing the transition to digital transformation in a way that meets and aligns with local needs.
