The university was represented at this conference. Dr. Mukhtar Al-Abyad University Requirements Coordinator and Dr. Mohammed Al Shamiri Director of Quality and Development Department through a scientific paper entitled “ Measuring the quality of higher education outcomes from the perspective of the university and some labor market institutions - a field study at the University of Science and Technology - Main Center - Aden.
Which aimed to measure the quality of the outputs of the University of Science and Technology - Main Center - Aden and to identify its strengths and weaknesses, where the researchers used a questionnaire with eight basic axes that represent the most important outputs of higher education, which are (Quality level of graduates. Training programs for community institutions , Scientific Consultations , Scientific projects , Books and scientific publications directed to serve the community , Scientific research , Conferences, seminars and community-oriented programs , University reputation and beneficiary satisfactionThe study sample consisted of two categories, category (A) from within the university, represented by a sample of faculty members at the University of Science and Technology - Main Center - Aden, while category (B) were from outside the university, namely employers (managers and officials of some labor market institutions in Aden Governorate). Appropriate statistical methods were used to analyze the sample results, and the study reached a number of conclusions, the most important of which were:
- The quality of the outputs of the University of Science and Technology, the main center, Aden (from the producer’s point of view), represented here by a sample of faculty members, was high in all the dimensions studied.
- The quality of the outputs of the University of Science and Technology, the main center, Aden (from the beneficiary’s point of view), represented here by a sample of employers (managers and officials of some labor market institutions in Aden Governorate), was average in two dimensions and high in six dimensions. It was shown through the analysis of the results that category (B) of the sample had an average response in scientific consultations and in conferences, seminars and programs directed to the community, but it was convinced of the level of quality of the other six outputs.
The conference was attended by external participants from professors at the University of Florence, Italy, a number of academics, educational officials, researchers, and others interested in improving the quality of the outputs of the University of Aden.
The opening of the consultative conference was attended by: President of Abyan University Dr. Mahmoud Al-Maysari, President of Sana'a University Dr. Abdul-Hakim Al-Sharjabi, Assistant President of the University of Science and Technology for Academic Affairs Dr. Muammar Al-Qatibi, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Mr. Salem Salman, Deputy Minister of Information Mr. Hussein Basalim, Deputy Minister of Health Dr. Abdullah Dahhan, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Higher Education Dr. Khaled Basalim, Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce Abu Bakr Ba'abid, and Chairman of the Academic Accreditation Council Dr. Sawsan Bakhira.
The Minister of Higher Education, Minister of Higher Education, Scientific Research, Technical Education and Vocational Training, Dr. Khaled Al-Wasabi, delivered a speech (recorded visually) in which he conveyed the greetings of the Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Affairs, Dr. Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak, who pays the utmost attention to higher education in general and the University of Aden in particular.
Al-Wasabi stressed that the Prime Minister, Dr. Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak, appreciates the efforts made by the University of Aden in the framework of advancing the process and the academy in conjunction with the difficult situation the country is going through in light of the actions of the rebellious coup groups against the legitimate state institutions, but they are still working at a high pace and with very limited capabilities.
Al-Wasabi pointed out that the consultative conference to improve the quality of the outputs of Aden University comes as an actual translation from the university of the call of the Ministry of Higher Education to consider the current year as the “Year of Quality”, stressing that the basics of improving the quality of outputs include paying attention to the academic staff and university professors, and applying legal standards.
