The English Department, Translation Program, College of Administrative and Human Sciences - University of Science and Technology - Main Center - Aden, organized a scientific event today, Saturday 09-30-2023, on the occasion of International Translation Day, September 30.
At the beginning of the event, Mr. Mansour Al-Zakri, Head of the English Department, Translation Program, welcomed the attendees, congratulating everyone working in the field of translation on this day. Then, Dr. Muammar Al-Qatibi delivered a speech in which he reviewed the importance of the translation specialization and its relationship to artificial intelligence. Then, the Dean of the College, Dr. Mahmoud Abdo Thabet, delivered a speech in which he explained the importance of the vital role that translation plays in bringing nations and peoples together and in the progress and renaissance of nations. Then, Dr. Nabil Muhaim, Professor of Translation at the University of Science and Technology, gave a lecture entitled: Translation and Artificial Intelligence, in which he explained the role of modern technology in facilitating the translation process. The event also included a photo exhibition that included a display of photos of previous events implemented by the department on the occasion of the International Translation Day and some of the students’ artistic creations related to translation. The event concluded with excerpts from the consecutive translation of fourth-level students.
