The Acting President of the University of Science and Technology, Prof. Dr. Abdulghani Hamid Ahmed, signed a memorandum of understanding between the university and the University of Iraq in the Republic of Iraq, represented by the President of the University, Prof. Dr. Ali Saleh Hussein. Shields were also handed over between the two universities.
The agreement, which was signed in Baghdad on the sidelines of the General Conference of the Association of Arab Universities, aims to develop and increase joint cooperation between the two universities in the scientific, research and technical fields, and to establish a joint working relationship to advance the reality of scientific cooperation in the interest of both parties.
The agreement included a number of articles, as Article Two stipulated cooperation between the two universities in the areas of information exchange, curricula, scientific research for publication purposes, organizing joint academic and scientific activities, organizing training workshops for teaching staff and students, encouraging cooperation in the area of joint scientific supervision, the possibility of exchanging university professors to conduct scientific research and give lectures, cooperation between the two universities in the areas of academic accreditation, quality assurance, and the exchange of expertise between the two universities to enter international university classifications, and other matters.
Article 4 of the agreement also included the formation of a joint committee between the two parties, including experts and specialists, to develop a mechanism to follow up and implement the articles and provisions of this memorandum and open new horizons for cooperation.
