32 schools from different directorates of Aden Governorate participated in the competition, and each directorate was represented by four secondary schools, two government schools (boys - girls), and two private schools (boys - girls) based on the nomination of the education offices in the directorates for the schools, and under the direct supervision of the education sector in the Ministry of Education and the Education Office in Aden Governorate.
The qualifiers between schools from all directorates continued for ten days, during which a joint elite of supervisors from the Ministry of Education and the Education Office in Aden Governorate prepared the question models, supervised the competition, corrected the answers, and announced the results first hand, in the presence of the supervisors of the schools participating in the competition.
The competition included a number of scientific subjects for secondary school students, where the students participating in the competition solved scientific problems by using the scientific methodologies followed in the curricula.
At the end of the qualifying round between the students of the competing schools, Al-Baihani Secondary School deservedly took first place, while Aden Model Secondary School for Girls took second place.
