The Deanship of Development and Quality Assurance at the University of Science and Technology - Main Center, Aden, in cooperation with the University’s Human Resources Department and the University’s Consulting and Development Center, held a workshop on “Preparing Executive Plans According to the Balanced Scorecard.”
The workshop targeted department managers and department heads at the university. The workshop lasted for four days, from August 25 to 28, 2024. It aimed to train administrative leaders at the university on the skills of preparing annual executive plans, and involving all departments and sections in preparing the plans; to form a common and clear understanding among all administrative units at the university that helps in building ambitious and realistic plans, with a clear mechanism for following up on implementation, and following up on the achievement of performance indicators during the year.
The workshop was implemented in the form of working groups for departments and sections, where each group worked during the workshop period to prepare its plan for the new year 2024-2025, and then present and discuss it. The workshop concluded with the annual plans for departments and sections.
The opening of the workshop was attended by the Acting President of the University, Prof. Abdulghani Hamid Ahmed, who also attended the closing ceremony of the workshop and the honoring of its participants. In his speech at the end of the workshop, he expressed his thanks to all participants and all attendees, stressing the importance of planning and working based on clear and well-thought-out plans, appreciating the efforts made to hold the workshop and make it a success. Part of the workshop was attended by Dr. Munir Al-Abbadi, Assistant President of the University for Student Affairs, Community Centers and Branches, and Dr. Muammar Al-Qatibi, Assistant President of the University for Academic Affairs.
This workshop comes as a result of the university’s interest in the planning and follow-up process, and its keenness to provide administrative leaders with planning and follow-up skills, which are among the most important skills that enable administrative cadres to build effective plans, implement them and evaluate them.
