Major Banks and Institutions Participating in the Opening of the Financial Entrepreneurship and Innovation Exhibition in Aden as a Promising Platform for Economic Recovery

In a setting reflecting the convergence of academic insight and economic action, the main campus of the University of Science and Technology in Aden experienced on Tuesday morning the opening of the Financial Entrepreneurship and Innovation Exhibition. The event is one of the largest economic and scientific gatherings in Yemen, with broad participation from leading banks and financial and development institutions.

The exhibition was inaugurated with a ribbon-cutting ceremony by the Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Yemen, Prof. Mohammed Omar Banaja, in the presence of Chairman of the Board Prof. Abdulaziz Al-Kabab, Acting Rector of the University and Conference Chair Prof. Abdulghani Hamid, Deputy Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research for Educational Affairs Prof. Khaled Basaleem, Rector of the University of Aden Prof. Al-Khader Laswar, Central Bank Board Member Dr. Hussein Al-Mallasi, Assistant Undersecretary for Local Banking Operations Mr. Ali Al-Shaabi, and Director General of Domestic Banking Mr. Hussein Al-Maisari—officially announcing the exhibition as a platform supporting the pathway of economic recovery.

The exhibition serves as a key associated event to the 2nd International Conference for the Banking Sector. The university campus was transformed into an interactive space bringing together financial decision-makers, entrepreneurs, and young innovators—reflecting the envisioned future of Yemen’s economy.

Following the ribbon-cutting ceremony, the Chairman of the Board and the Acting President visited the exhibition rooms, looking at the innovative financial and technological solutions presented by participating institutions and banks, and commending the level of organization and displayed content.

During his visit, Prof. Abdulghani Hamid emphasized that the university seeks, through this event, to translate the conference’s slogan into reality by linking academic and scientific outcomes with the needs of the banking and practice sectors—contributing to economic development and strengthening partnerships between education and the financial sector.

The exhibition experienced broad attendance and participation of leaders of banking institutions showcasing their latest services and products, including: Tadhamon Bank, Al-Qutaibi Islamic Bank, Shumool Islamic Microfinance Bank, National Bank of Yemen, Aden Islamic Microfinance Bank, Al-Busairi International Bank, Al-Kuraimi Islamic Microfinance Bank, Tamkeen Microfinance Bank, Al-Qasimi Islamic Microfinance Bank, Yemen Bahrain Shamil Bank, Yemen Commercial Bank, Yemen Bank for Reconstruction and Development, and Aden First Islamic Bank.

The exhibition also included the participation of famous development and service institutions, including the Social Fund for Development, the Public Works Project, Tawasol for Humanitarian Development Foundation, Bazara Development Charitable Foundation, Belfaqeeh Security Solutions, and Al-Maraseem Group, in addition to hospitality and creativity sponsors KEEF Coffee and Dar Bazara.

The exhibition is open to the public daily from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, featuring daily raffles and valuable prizes in an interactive atmosphere that fostered direct engagement between students, visitors, and representatives of national institutions, as well as several schools from Aden Governorate—among them Al-Firdous Modern Schools, Aden British Schools, Al-Irtikaa Private Schools, Quality International Schools, and Nouri Model Schools—encouraging idea exchange and exploration of innovation opportunities.

The exhibition also experienced the opening of the “Innovation Corner” as a qualitative initiative for nurturing innovative ideas, connecting innovators with decision-makers, and transforming their projects into practical models supporting the national economy. The initiative includes participation from the University of Science and Technology and the University of Aden, along with several educational institutions such as Sama Aden International Schools, Sama Aden Schools, Al-Nawras Schools, and Al-Nebras Schools.

The exhibition continues receiving visitors until Thursday, February 12, reaffirming in its message that the way toward economic recovery and reconstruction begins with reconsolidating academic and banking efforts and building effective partnerships that contribute to achieving sustainable development.
