Program Overview
The Bachelor of Nursing program has an updated vision, mission and objectives that are consistent with the mission of the college and the mission of the university. They were prepared by academics and specialized experts based on the university’s strategy and the needs of the local and regional labor market. They do not conflict with the goals, mission and vision of the university and are in accordance with the Yemeni Universities Law, the Private Universities Law and applicable legislation.

Program mission:
The Bachelor of Nursing Program at the College of Medicine and Health Sciences, University of Science and Technology, seeks to prepare and graduate a specialized cadre in nursing; equipped with distinguished professional and scientific capabilities and skills; and contributes to serving the community and scientific research through a distinguished educational environment, a competent cadre, modern curricula, and using modern teaching and learning technologies in accordance with quality standards and academic accreditation.

Program Features
- The nursing program at our university adopts a modern curriculum (in English) that was specially prepared to keep pace with the latest requirements of the nursing profession to qualify the graduate with an accredited certificate that facilitates the opportunity for him to work locally, regionally and internationally.
- The program features an intensive training component, providing students with practical training opportunities in the college’s laboratories, in addition to clinical training at the University of Science and Technology’s teaching hospital and in health facilities affiliated with the Ministry of Health and private sector partners.
- The program has an integrated educational environment that includes well-equipped lecture halls and laboratories, and provides various types of student services, including: a paper and electronic library, primary health care service, a gym and various student activities, student guidance, etc.
- The program's academic team is distinguished by its diverse academic and professional-practical experiences, as this experience is distributed among local, regional and international higher education institutions, in addition to visiting professors.
- Study “English Language” and “Medical English” during the first and second academic years to enhance their ability to understand the specialized courses (taught in English).
- Graduates of the program will have multiple job opportunities after graduation in different countries of the world, as the nursing profession is considered the most in-demand specialty globally.
- Graduates have multiple opportunities for higher qualification in postgraduate programmes, both regionally and internationally.
Program Goals
- Preparing a nursing cadre whose performance is distinguished by high quality and professional competence, who realizes the centrality of their role in the health system, and who is committed to their professional mission to achieve qualitative change in the beliefs and practices of society towards the nursing mission.
- Enhancing the student’s ability to integrate new knowledge and applied sciences when preparing and implementing the “nursing plan”, as well as developing his technical abilities to deal with modern devices to improve and raise the effectiveness of nursing services.
- Strengthening the ability of scientific research and field studies among nursing students, to develop and advance the nursing profession at the national level.
- Enabling the student to use the skills of “analytical-critical thinking”, “problem solving”, “continuing education”, and “the art of communication” to enhance the level of the nursing profession at all its stages.
- Strengthening “professional ethics” and the concepts of “self-control” and “professional responsibility” to form the most important components of the personality of the nurse who graduates from the nursing program at our university.
- Training the student on the principles of management and leadership; to enhance his scientific and ethical qualifications in order to achieve professional excellence at the local and regional levels.
Admission and registration requirements
- . A high school diploma in the Republic of Yemen, or its equivalent, is accepted in the major, at the rate determined annually by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
- Submit all the required documents, certified with the application for admission to the university, to the Admission and Registration Department.
- Admission is made according to the capacity specified by the university and approved by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
- The student undertakes to abide by the regulations, instructions and regulations of the university in force during the study.
- Students enrolled in some college programs are subject to differentiation tests, which are a criterion for college admission, and this is done through placement determination, a personal interview, as well as a GPA competition and an admission test.
Documents required for high school graduates:
- The application form for admission (admission) with all the information included in it completed, in accordance with the conditions of the university.
- The original certified high school certificate or its equivalent, accompanied by a true copy.
- If the secondary school is from outside Yemen, it will be baptized (original + copy) from the following authorities:
- The Ministry of Education in the country from which the certificate was issued.
- The Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the country from which the certificate is issued.
- Embassy of the Republic of Yemen in the country from which the certificate is issued.
- The Yemeni Foreign Ministry in Aden.
If the high school diploma is from a non-Arab country, it will be translated after ratification and ratification of the translated copy (according to Paragraph No. 3 above), in addition to its equivalency at the Ministry of Education in the Republic of Yemen.
- A copy of the personal or family card for Yemeni students.
- Six personal photos (4×6) with a white front background.
- Photocopies of the first eight pages of the passport (for non-Yemenis), provided that the passport is valid for more than one year, with a record of residing in Yemen for at least one year.
