Within the project of preparing for academic accreditation, the Deanship of Development and Quality Assurance at the University of Science and Technology - Main Center Aden, organized a consultative meeting on Thursday 10/24/2024, in the presence of the university presidency, deans of colleges, heads of scientific departments, and quality officials in colleges and departments, within the framework of preparing for academic programmatic accreditation, where practical steps were discussed, and an agreement was reached on the programs that will be submitted for national programmatic accreditation during the year 2025.
At the opening of the meeting, Prof. Dr. Abdulghani Hamid Ahmed, Acting President of the University, welcomed the attendees and stressed the need to work as a team with determination and resolve to obtain national program accreditation, and then international accreditation. He explained that academic accreditation is one of the university’s priorities; therefore, the university has placed it within its strategy, and will provide all necessary support for its programs to obtain academic accreditation; as this will continue to improve and develop the educational process; to ensure qualified outputs that meet the requirements of the local and regional labor market.
During the meeting, Dr. Mahmoud Al-Rumaima, Dean of the Deanship of Development and Quality Assurance, gave an explanatory presentation on the standards set by the Academic Accreditation Council to evaluate academic programs and programs targeted for accreditation during the year 2025. He also reviewed the steps and work mechanism that will be implemented according to timed plans, and confirmed that the Deanship is in the process of implementing a series of training courses and workshops to train the committees tasked with preparing the self-study during the coming period.
The meeting included several discussions, which resulted in several decisions that were agreed upon to complete the preparation work until obtaining academic accreditation.
