The College of Administrative and Human Sciences holds a scientific forum entitled “Purchasing Policies between Theory and Practice.”
The College of Administrative and Human Sciences held a scientific forum on Tuesday, January 23, 2024, entitled “Purchasing Policies between Theory and Practice” for students of the Bachelor’s Program in Accounting, Arabic Business Administration, International Business Administration, and English Business Administration.
The Acting President of the University, Prof. Abdul Ghani Hamid, opened the forum with a speech in which he stressed the importance of extracurricular scientific activities, which work to provide university students with skills and abilities that are compatible with their scientific specializations, and which will graduate university students to the labor market with high efficiency. This was followed by a speech by the Dean of the College of Administrative and Human Sciences, Dr. Mahmoud Abdo Thabet, in which he welcomed all attendees and participants.
The forum began with student interventions on purchasing: the concept, importance and objectives, purchasing policies (the concept and factors influencing the choice of the appropriate policy), and purchasing policies related to appropriate quality.
The forum included a scientific intervention delivered by Assistant Professor of Business Administration at the University of Science and Technology, Dr. Iskandar Hassan Abdel Sattar, followed by several interventions by a group of students on purchasing policies related to the right time, and purchasing policies related to the right quantity.
Then came the second scientific intervention, delivered by Dr. Jamal Hassan Taleb, Assistant Professor of Business Administration at the University of Science and Technology, to leave the students with several interventions on purchasing policies related to the appropriate price, and purchasing policies related to determining the appropriate source of purchase.
During the forum, some local companies presented their application of purchasing policy from an applied perspective, including the Yemeni Company for Mills and Grain Silos in Aden, the Science Industrial Company, and the University of Science and Technology.
The scientific forum activities concluded with an enriching scientific intervention by Dr. Faiza Ahmed Abdel Rahman, Assistant Professor of Business Administration at the University of Science and Technology.
In conclusion, the Acting President of the University, Prof. Dr. Abdul Ghani Hamid, and the Dean of the College of Administrative and Human Sciences, Dr. Mahmoud Abdo Thabet, honored the speaking students.
