The cultural competition for the academic year 2022-2023 AD
In the presence of the Assistant President for Student Affairs, Dr. Munir Al-Abbadi, the Assistant President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Muammar Al-Qatibi, the Dean of the College of Engineering and Computers, Dr. Nasr Al-Saqqaf, and the Dean of the College of Applied Sciences and Technology, Dr. Abdul Latif Al-Dhahabi, on Thursday, 9-3-2023, the Student Affairs Department held the cultural competition for the academic year 2022-2023 in (poetry, prose, short story, calligraphy, and theater). The competition was opened with a speech by the Assistant President for Student Affairs, Dr. Munir Al-Abbadi, in which he welcomed all attendees and participating students with words of encouragement and praise for the role of these competitions in discovering, refining, and developing students’ talents, and linking scientific and cultural aspects alike, and that the university adopts highlighting what distinguishes its students in all fields, and aims through these participations to compete regionally, in which they had a successful experience with the Graphics Department, which won first place in Lebanon for three consecutive years.
The jury consisted of Dr. Ramzi Al-Hamidi, the head of the committee, Dr. Abdo Ibrahim Al-Housali, a faculty member at the university, and from outside the university, Ms. Aisha Al-Awlaqi, a well-known writer and author. They thanked the participating students and praised the beautiful participations that won the admiration and appreciation of the committee, and the talents that the students possess that truly deserve appreciation and encouragement, and the extent of their proficiency in poetry and short stories, and their creativity and brilliance in the aspect of recitation, which was one of the most beautiful and enjoyable moments of the competition, and the extent of the similarity of the students’ levels and their mastery in it.
Mr. Abdulaziz Al-Nakhbi, Director of Student Affairs, explained that the university presidency has always provided support and encouragement for holding cultural activities and events at the level of the university’s colleges and centers.
Stressing that the Student Affairs Department seeks to highlight and expand cultural and creative activity at the university, as it includes a large number of talented and creative students in various fields and works to discover and highlight their talents.
In turn, he thanked the jury and the students for their participation and interaction.
The competition concluded with honoring the students who won first place in each aspect, and granting the participants certificates of participation.
