Indonesian University of Science and Technology - Aden is ranked first among private universities in Yemen and second among private and governmental universities in Yemen according to the Webometrics World Ranking.
The University of Science and Technology - Main Center, Aden, topped the Yemeni private universities, according to the results of the famous Webometrics global ranking of the world's largest universities, in the second half of 2024, as the latest ranking of international universities.
In the aforementioned global classification, the University of Science and Technology - Aden ranked first among private universities in Yemen, and second among private and governmental universities in Yemen, as it obtained advanced marks in the three indicators adopted in the evaluation, which are: the excellence index, the impact index, and the openness index.
The University of Science and Technology - Aden also advanced in the ranking of Arab universities, as it obtained the 205th rank in the Arab world after it was ranked 246 in the previous evaluation, thus it has surpassed 41 places from the previous evaluation. In addition, the university also advanced in the international classification, as it obtained the 3865th rank globally, surpassing 544 places from the previous evaluation in which it was ranked 4409.
31,000 universities from more than 200 countries around the world were classified according to indicators that measure the virtual presence of universities through their websites, and indicate the level of clarity, transparency, and the strength and excellence of scientific research.
With this new classification, the University of Science and Technology - Aden proves once again that it is an edifice of academic excellence nationally, continentally and internationally, thanks to the grace of God Almighty first, and then thanks to the efforts of all its members, academics and administrators, as it continued its progress in the Webometrics global classification, which relies in its evaluation on the activities of universities that appear on the World Wide Web (Internet) and on their websites, as the evaluation is based on a number of criteria, including: the number of researches, studies and reports published electronically, the size and impact of the university's web pages, the extent of use of the university's name in external links to websites and in search engines, and others. The Webometrics classification also relies in its evaluation on a number of global websites and platforms, including: Google Scholar, Scimago of Scopus, Ahroof, and Majestic.
