The Acting President of the University of Science and Technology, Prof. Dr. Abdul Ghani Hamid Ahmed, received Ms. Amal Mowafi, Senior Employment Policy Consultant at the International Labor Organization Regional Office for Arab States and Director of the Organization’s Office in Jordan, who visited the university at its main center in Aden, on Thursday, November 7, 2024.
Mrs. Amal Mowafi was accompanied on this visit by Mr. Ali bin Ali Dahaq, the representative of the International Labor Organization in Yemen.
At the beginning of the visit, the Acting President of the University welcomed Ms. Amal Mowafi to the University of Science and Technology, and gave a brief presentation about the university and the various activities and procedures undertaken by the university to prepare students for the labor market.
For her part, Ms. Amal Mowafi gave a brief overview of the International Labor Organization, pointing out the role the organization plays in promoting the trend towards empowering youth, providing them with the necessary skills for this era, and qualifying them for the labor market. Ms. Amal Mowafi also revealed that her visits are for the purpose of formulating projects and agreements with more than one party, including the University of Science and Technology; in a way that supports the orientation of the organization and the university in this framework.
During the meeting, Mr. Ali bin Ali Dahaq, the representative of the International Labor Organization in Yemen, spoke about the importance of the partnership between the organization and the labor market.
Mrs. Amal Mowafi and Professor Ali Bin Ali Dahaq toured the university’s buildings, halls and laboratories, praising the university and its advanced infrastructure.
The meeting was attended by the University Assistant President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Muammar Al-Qatibi, and the Director of the University’s Marketing and Public Relations Department, Dr. Samir Muthanna.
