University of Science and Technology - Main Center Aden tops Yemeni private universities in the Arab ranking of universities

As usual, the University of Science and Technology topped private and governmental universities in the Arab university rankings; it ranked first among private universities, and second among Yemeni universities. It also achieved an advanced position on the Arab level, as it ranked 59th among Arab universities participating in the ranking.

The Association of Arab Universities launched the first edition of the Arab classification of Arab universities today, Thursday, December 21, 2023, in the presence of the presidents of Arab governmental and private universities, the university presidency, and the deans of the university’s faculties.

The Arab University Ranking focused on four indicators: the teaching and learning indicator, the scientific research indicator, the creativity and innovation indicator, and the participation indicator. The first and second indicators took the largest weight (60%), followed by the third and fourth indicators with a weight (40%). The extent to which these indicators were achieved was measured through a set of detailed indicators, supported by the necessary supports.

It is worth noting that the university currently tops the Scimago rankings among private universities, which is one of the well-known rankings for academic and research institutions, and uses a composite index that reflects three main criteria: research performance, innovation, and societal impact, which is measured by its appearance on the web.

This year, the university topped all Yemeni universities in the Webometrics ranking in its latest edition.
