The University of Science and Technology - Main Center Aden received a visiting delegation of directors of the Central Laboratory. The visiting delegation included: Dr. Wahid Al-Bakhshi, Director of the Central Laboratory in Aden Governorate, Dr. Kahlan Al-Bashari, Director of the Central Laboratory in Marib Governorate, Dr. Amin Basbain, Director of the Central Laboratory in Hadhramaut Governorate, and Dr. Jalal Al-Hammadi, Deputy Director of the Central Laboratory in Taiz Governorate.
The visit aimed to see the level of equipment and laboratories in the Department of Health Sciences - Medical Laboratories Program at the university.
The delegation met with the Acting President of the University, Prof. Abdulghani Hamid Ahmed, and his Assistant for Academic Affairs, Dr. Muammar Al-Qatibi. The Acting President welcomed the visiting delegation and emphasized the vital role played by the central laboratories in diagnosing diseases, stressing the importance of bilateral cooperation between the university and the central laboratories to enhance the quality of education and practical training for students, which contributes to the development of future medical cadres.
During the visit, the delegation inspected the various laboratories in the department, where the delegation members were briefed on the devices and technologies used in the students’ practical training. The delegation members also provided scientific advice to students at various levels of study in the program, stressing the importance of keeping up with the latest developments in the field of medical laboratories.
At the conclusion of the visit - which came within the framework of scientific and research cooperation - the two parties expressed their aspiration to enhance joint cooperation, through organizing workshops and training programs to exchange experiences and improve performance in the field of medical laboratories.
