The Acting President of the University of Science and Technology, Prof. Dr. Abdul-Ghani Hamid Ahmed, and the Dean of the Deanship of Development and Quality Assurance at the University, Dr. Mahmoud Al-Rumaima, visited the Academic Accreditation and Quality Assurance Council for Higher Education at its headquarters in Al-Shaab City - Aden, on Thursday, 9/19/2024. They were received by Prof. Dr. Susan Bakhbira, Head of the Academic Accreditation Council, and a number of members of the Council.
This visit comes within the framework of communication between the university and the council to discuss ways to achieve quality standards and academic accreditation requirements, as well as to inform the council of the academic programs being prepared at the University of Science and Technology - Main Center, Aden, to obtain academic program accreditation.
During the meeting, the Council Chairwoman praised the efforts of the University of Science and Technology and its academic reputation, stressing the Academic Accreditation Council’s keenness to provide support to universities to advance the educational process and achieve academic accreditation requirements.
For his part, the Acting President of the University explained the University’s efforts to prepare for academic accreditation for a number of the University’s programmes, most notably the “Medicine and Surgery” programme.
The meeting also discussed a number of issues and topics related to quality standards and academic accreditation, and ways of cooperation to overcome all challenges.
The meeting was attended by members of the Accreditation Council: Prof. Dr. Hoda Omar Basalim, Prof. Dr. Abdul Raqib Al-Samawi, Prof. Dr. Nadia Salam Muhammad, Prof. Dr. Anisa Abdo Mujahid, Secretary General of the Council Dr. Anwar Ahmed Qasim, and Director of Measurement and Evaluation Dr. Ahmed Abdullah Balharith.
