With an official presence, the University of Science and Technology - Main Center, Aden, launched this morning, Wednesday, February 28, 2024, the first free medical camp, in cooperation with the Modern Pharmaceutical Company, held in the university building in the Inmaa City in the center of the capital, Aden, over the course of Wednesday and Thursday, February 28-29, 2024.
The camp, which is today, Wednesday, is supervised by senior doctors with experience in their specialized fields. The camp also provides free treatment services for various medical cases, males and females, young and old, through its various clinics, which include: general medicine, internal medicine, children, obstetrics and gynecology, ophthalmology, dentistry, mental health, therapeutic nutrition, and optics, in addition to health awareness programs. The camp provides various services in the dental clinic, including: diagnosis of oral diseases, simple extraction of adult teeth, removal of simple deposits, application of strengthening fluoride to children's teeth, making protective fillings for children's teeth (closing dental fissures), and simple extraction of baby teeth for children. The camp also provides free examinations and medications. It also provides a discount of 30% for optics.
The camp receives patients from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm. Please note that the medical cases received by the camp are first diagnosed by the camp doctors; based on that, the necessary medical procedure is taken for each case. Please note that the camp does not perform surgical interventions for cases that require it.
In addition to its free medical services, the camp today witnessed the organization of awareness-raising activities in various medical specialties, by students of the College of Medicine and Health Sciences at the university, and under the supervision of a group of doctors.
The number of beneficiaries of the camp's services today, Wednesday, reached 3,420 beneficiaries, distributed as follows: 317 beneficiaries from general medicine clinics, 294 beneficiaries from internal medicine clinics, 105 beneficiaries from obstetrics and gynecology clinics, 213 beneficiaries from ophthalmology and optics clinics, 770 beneficiaries from oral and dental medicine and surgery clinics, 193 beneficiaries from pediatric clinics, 130 beneficiaries from mental health clinics, 217 beneficiaries from nutrition clinics, 814 beneficiaries from pharmacy services, and 367 beneficiaries from laboratory tests.
It is worth noting that this free medical camp is a community service within the framework of the University of Science and Technology’s commitment to responsibility towards society.
