Field trip for fourth-level students of the Therapeutic Nutrition and Diets Program

The Department of Health Sciences launched its training program for students of the Therapeutic Nutrition and Dietetics Program, through a visit to Ibn Khaldoun General Hospital in Lahj Governorate, where the students were accompanied by Prof. Dr. Samia Qutbi, Professor of Therapeutic Nutrition and Dietetics at the University of Science and Technology, and Dr. Mayda Taher and Dr. Ahmed Al-Yamani, Field Training Supervisor.

The students toured the hospital departments with the aim of learning about the medical cases and applying the scientific knowledge they acquired during their studies at the University of Science and Technology.

The students focused their visit on the malnutrition department at the hospital and met with the staff working there, who in turn provided a comprehensive explanation to the students about the services provided by the department in receiving various cases of malnutrition. Then the students began to follow up on some cases suffering from malnutrition and conduct some nutritional tests.

This is the first descent of the year and will be followed by several descents to different locations. 

At the end of the first field visit, the students expressed their satisfaction with the good reception, organization and cooperation they received from the hospital staff.
