On Tuesday, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Technical Education and Training Ahmed Kulaib inaugurated the Institute of Applied Science and Technology in Al-Mahra Governorate, with the specializations “Pharmacy - Laboratories - Physician Assistant.”
In a statement to “Al-Mahra” during the opening, the Undersecretary of the Ministry confirmed that the institute (affiliated with the University of Science and Technology) will add to Mahra a qualitative leap for developing the technical sector in the governorate, and graduating qualified cadres to benefit from the governorate.
He pointed out that his visit to Al-Mahra comes under the directives of the ministry's leadership to find out the needs of the Technical Institute for Training in the governorate, and other institutes, to touch their concerns and push the educational process forward.
For his part, the Governorate’s Undersecretary for Education Affairs, Saleh Alyan, said that “Al-Mahra is in dire need of such projects that bring benefit to the people of the governorate,” stressing that the local authority is making a lot of efforts in this aspect.
In turn, the dean of the institute, Ammar al-Jabal, said that the institute will provide the local market and the governorate with cadres that keep pace with recent developments through the modern curriculum taught at the institute.
After the opening, the Undersecretary of the Ministry and the Undersecretary of the Governorate reviewed the Institute of Science and the University and listened to the obstacles facing the students.
