Quality Unit – Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences



About Quality Unit

The quality unit at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences was established in 2003. With the greater needs of the faculty for the support in quality, the faculty established the quality unit to support and provide it with the local and international requirements and standards of quality through inculcating the culture of quality, leading the process of continuing improvement of the tertiary, organizational, academic and administrative performance as well  as gain the Yemeni society confidence of quality of graduates in accordance with the visible and specific standards of performance.

Vision

To be one of the leading centers of quality   through distinctive application, steering, guidance for the standards of the organizational, academic, and administrative quality at the tertiary education at the domestic, regional, and international levels.

Mission

The quality unit aspires to prepare and provide the faculty of medicine with the local and international  requirements and standards of quality through inculcating the culture of quality, leading the process of continuing improvement of the tertiary, organizational, academic and administrative performance as well as gain the Yemeni society  confidence of quality of graduates in accordance with the visible and specific standards of performance.

Strategic Objectives:

  • Establish internal system to ensure good quality and achieve great educational outcomes.
  • Determine specifications of programs and courses in response to the latest technological developments in the field of various medical disciples.
  • Develop a mechanism of control and leadership and adoption of annual reporting system in addition to internal  work plan within the faculty.
  • Inculcate the culture of quality  and awareness of performance assessment among the faculty members and students and staff through continuous training and workshops.
  • Develop the educational service through the support academic departments at the faculty to ensure the application of quality system in accordance with the standards of quality and accreditation.
  • Continuous assessment for the educational process through determining the weaknesses and strengths in the capacities and academic programs offered by the faculty and provide appropriate suggestions and  solutions to overcome such weaknesses.
  • Produce annual report on the faculty performance.
  • Ensure student and staff satisfaction and expectations and beneficiaries from the services of the faculty.
  • Gain confidence of the Yemeni, regional and international community in the outcomes of the educational process at the university and develop it constantly as an aggregate to improve the quality performance.
  • Ensure the capacity of the graduates to match the requirements of the local and regional labor market in light of  contemporary changes and challenges.
  • Upgrade the values of excellence and competitiveness in the faculty and affiliated  centers.
  • Improve the level of administrative services provided for the beneficiaries.
  • Continuous improvement of the educational environment.
